Hey all, hope you are well.
Paul and I had decided to go to the east coast today.
I needed to feel emptiness. I needed to be surrounded by space.
So we went to Skegness, used the loo, very, very socially sensibly, then went for a walk along the front. It was nice, too many people though. So we had lunch then drove to a nature reserve called Gibraltar Point. Now, that was peaceful! We ambled along, just soaking up the space, sun and each other. It was soooo lovely! Obviously, my body being what it is, I needed the loo after a couple of hours, and as the facilities at the reserve are closed, we had to drive back to Skegness beach for the loo, then came home.
We walked into the lovely smell of Paul’s slow cooker curry… Delish!
The only downside to today is the bloated feeling since our packed lunch, quite uncomfortable. This bloated feeling is still with me now. Thankfully, this has been a minor irritation, not enough to put a dampner on my glorious day!
Here are some pics.

One of the greatest gifts in life is to be able to appreciate surroundings. It was wonderful just standing and listening to birds and insects, and watching the birds dart around.
To the business of the day…
We started with beans on white toast

Had half a cheese and chutney sarnie and half a blue cheese and cured meat sarnie each. The bread was seedy, and we had olive spread on it. A scotch egg each, a healthier choc mousse each and some dried fruits and nuts. I had also picked up a mini sausage roll each for today, but we didn’t eat it. We took my new favourite water, sainsbury’s own still strawberry and kiwi!
Dinner was healthier lamb curry, I had half the bread and about two thirds of the rice. I think I could have, and should have left more, considering how bloated I feel!

So that’s my day, a day of tranquility and peacefulness.
I’m hoping I’ll sleep well tonight 😆
Night all 🤗
oooh! Skegness!! I haven’t been there in a long time!!
I grew up on the east coast (well Hull so sort of) so it reminds me of being a kid 😀

I love Skegness, holidays were not a thing until I was 9, so every year up until then we would go to Skeggy for a day! Ah… great times 🙂. I love the beach there, great for kids! But as an adult I think I prefer Gibraltar Point, too much of a wuss to dip my toes nowadays, so the interestingness of Gibraltar point for walking appeals more.
