28th Oct 2019 – I have an excuse!

Hi all.

Ok, I need to give a bit of background before I hit you with my food!

Right now my mum should be in South Africa, singing and doing safaris. A couple of weeks ago when visiting mum she burst into tears, what with everything going on she had not sorted out her jabs. No trip for mum 😔.

This was going to be her first non family visiting trip since my wonderful step dad died a couple of years ago.

My sister and I suggested a really nice meal out, something to take the sting away.

So that’s what we did.

Now we decided on the local steak house because both mum and Chelle (My sister) liked the sound of the steak Paul and I had shared for my birthday. They were not disappointed. And all three of us had a lovely evening.

So for dinner this evening we shared olives and bread and oil to start, chateabriand steak, chips, tomatoes, lettuce, and then there was a choc pud. I did have diet coke though.

I don’t feel guilty, some things are more important than a days worth of dieting. Giving mum a little piece of happiness was worth every mouthful.

Besides…. My digestive system is making me suffer!!! 🤣

The rest of the day was good, usual nuts, fruit, salad and egg.

Fluid – 200ml milk, .5l water, 4 cups of tea, 2 glasses of diet coke.

Exercise – because some idiot blocked my car in today, I worked from home, annoyingly because I was busy, and could have done with my other screens! This meant I was able to do some cardio and strength training in my lunch break, and I walked very quickly (running late) to mum’s.

So that’s my day, looking forward to getting back to routine tomorrow.

Bye for now.

  1. Such a shame for your mum but I have to say that I lived in SA for a year, and in a remote location, and never had any jabs or malaria tablets. We’ve visited since and done safaris and plenty of travelling and never needed anything. Tell her to jump on a plane!!

    1. Sorry, I’ve just realised I haven’t been clicking the right button to respond 🤣. Unfortunately she cancelled everything as soon as she realised, I’ll certainly let her know what you said though, thank you 😊

  2. ah, if only she could, she cancelled everything as soon as she realised! I’ll certainly let her know what you said, though I suspect she’ll be all jabbed up with weeks to go next time 🙂

  3. Well done for getting after the exercise on your lunch break. You’re absolutely right on the diet front. On special occasions, just enjoy it! They’re rare, and won’t harm progress if you get right back on plan afterwards. In fact, I think it’s important to have moments like these.
