Evening all, I hope you are well and safe in these uncertain times.
First and foremost, as ever you wonderful people, I felt very encouraged by your comments, so thank you very, very much WordPress fam!

It is wonderful to know there are people around the world ready to bolster my flagging soul when needed, as well as to cheer me on when I am doing well π
Today starts another 7 days of isolation for myself and Paul, we have both had a bit of a cough, more for Paul it was a dry cough, so this morning we let our friends, family and neighbours know that we are again homebound. My cough is very slight and is now more “moist” for want of a less nasty description. Paul is also now more moist, and has also been sneezing a lot and feels cold. I believe Paul is now suffering with just a cold.
However to be absolutely safe, and not risk giving anyone else anything, we have decided to stay in isolation. And even though our walks rarely put us in contact with anyone else, we have decided even walks are out for now.
It seems quite obvious now that beautiful Snowdon and Wales will be lost to us this year, however I am going to carry on training with a positive thought that September will still see us looking in awe across beautiful countryside.
Ah, just been listening to the PM, at least for the moment then we can go for walks after our isolation next week, I was beginning to think we might be on full lock down!
Right, back to my post…
Had a message from Mum earlier today, she absolutely LOVED the focaccia and the bakewell tart! I’m guessing she didn’t finish it all today π
I’m really feeling for my mum at the moment, she’s on her own on Mothers Day, her birthday and maybe more importantly the anniversary of my step dad’s death, and their wedding anniversary. What was once a very joyous time, is now a very very sad time for her. We will all keep in contact with her, lots of telephone calls, and I know my sister will probably pop round.
Now, have I shown any discipline today?
YES!!!! WOOHOO!!!
I have made a great start to the week!
As tempting as it was, I did not stay in bed, I got up and did a cardio programme. Then during my lunch time, I did a strength programme!

So that’s 17 minutes of vigorous activity and 26 minutes of moderate activity to start off my week.
These two programmes are my new favourites! If you’re looking for some relatively easy home workouts, then I would definitely recommend taking a look at these. I’ve also put the link on for the stretchy programme I like.
The first one is a strength training, only 17ish minutes, it’s not hard, I do use weights, a mix of 1k and 2k weights, but again, a couple of water bottles are fine to start off with! I find I’m able to do more then I think I can do, hence the 2k weights mixed in now. I have used Hasfit for a few of my programmes, I do enjoy Coach Kozak’s programmes, and his wife Claudia does a simpler version for us to follow if needed.
The second is new to me this year. This trainer from Body Project is a great motivator, and tells you straight from the start, he doesn’t care how many times you hit the pause button, all he cares about is that you finish with him. This programme is actually quite fun, and you do feel as if you’ve had a good workout. The programme is a series of 30 second exercises, each followed by 30 seconds of marching on the spot, so you don’t feel as though you’re being worked beyond limits.
And here is the stretchy programme I was using last year, and will get back into now. Your heart rate will not raise at all on this, but it does feel good to get some decent stretching in. Don’t be put off by the splits being done on the pic, I can’t do that at all! All we can do is try our best π I do always feel quite good after doing this.
My plan is to do cardio every morning, then during my lunchtimes, strength on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and stretches on Tuesday and Thursday. Not sure what I’ll do this weekend as long walks are out. I might look into something new, tai chi maybe, that Zumba programme I did just once? who knows, you tube has loads of amazing free programmes!
So, on to the day…
We kept to our healthy food as much as possible. So I started with 60g fruits and 40g nuts and a cheese portion. Obviously we couldn’t do salad, so we had some brown bread with tuna mayo and a bit of cheese for lunch. Tonight we had frozen lightly dusted basa and oven chips along with frozen sprouts.

There were two portions of veggies in those sprouts. I left about half the chips.
We are short on fruit and veggies today by 1 portion. I should have done us a tin of fruit cocktail, but time has well and truly run away from me this evening.
I might have had 3 portions of dairy with the cheeses and milk in my teas.
I have had three cups of water today people! but then I’ve also had 2 glasses of pepsi max.
So there we are, my day, a lot better than any day last week!
Stay safe, stay strong.
Excellent work π
