27th Oct 2019 – good food and a nice walk.

Hey all, hope you’ve had a nice weekend.

After last night’s update I had a rice cake. I’m really quite impressed with them, they’re big so several mouthfuls worth, and tasty (salt and vinegar) but only 50ish calories.

Today was a lovely easy day. A nice lie in, which is always appreciated given my rubbish sleep.

I’ve had to take a couple of tablets today as my coccyx is playing up.

We went for a nice 1 hour walk, then shopped for our packed lunch stuff for the week.

I prepped the salad stuff when we got home, so all our salads are done. We only had 2 eggs, so I’ve boiled them up for tomorrow, I’ll boil the rest tomorrow night. Paul prepped fruits and nuts.

Paul cooked dinner and it was lovely.

Now I’m enjoying a small glass of chocolate Bailey’s while watching a fave fun film, Paul.

So, here’s my daily.

Food – 2 small slices of bread with real butter and 3 healthier sausages.

Tuna steak, salad, boiled spuds with lighter than light mayo, wholegrain mustard and paprika.

Fluid – 200ml milk, 1 can Pepsi max, 1 cup of tea, 500ml sports drink, 1 glass Baileys, 300ml water.

Exercise – 1 hour walk, slower than our usual walking speed, but nice to get out.

Sometimes only messy hair will do – quick review

Morning all.

I have “meh” hair, quite fine, no style, and to be honest, I can’t be bothered to get it styled. I know! I’m a rubbish hair girl 🤣

I don’t own hair spray, gel or wax, my hair dryer comes out only in emergencies.

The most I do is wash, condition and brush!

However, there are rare times when I want to look different, and I love the scruffy look!

So, if your like me in this respect, I would recommend this at £4.40 from boots.

I’ve only recently bought it, on recommendation of my daughter and boss, and I love it. Spray all over and through wet hair, blow dry while crunching up.

26th Oct 2019 – a good food day, an experimental food day.

Evening all, hope you are well, and enjoying your weekend.

We we’re hoping to go for a walk today, however the rain stopped us. Tomorrow is supposed to be good, so fingers crossed for a walk then.

So instead I decided today was the day to try My first recipe idea for my “Cheap & Nutritional” blog posts.

I visited with my friend, then nicked her son Luke. Then Amy, Luke and I did some research at our local Tesco, then made a healthy spag bol to try out. It was a successful experiment insofar as there was some great feedback for improvements, and that I know the ingredients can make a healthy and nutritional meal for very little money.

Quite frankly though it lacked depth of flavour, and as the protein was veggie (just because of cost) the ways I would improve it would take it away from being a vegetarian meal, so I shall leave those recipes to the experts, and buy some mince (Not sure which yet) and try again.

It was a fun afternoon, here’s some pics.

So that’s my day, here’s my daily report.

Food – beans on toast

Dinner – first attempt at cheap but healthy meal.

Supper – Greek yoghurt with seeds and honey.

Fluid – 2cups of tea, 1 can energy drink, 1 can Pepsi max.

Exercise – none – back still uncomfortable, not as bad as yesterday, but being a hypercondriac (undiagnosed 😁) I shall wait till I feel it’s safe.

WOOHOO!!! a successful week! Another 3lb down!

I’m so pleased! I have lost another 3lb this week!

Summary: 15 weeks healthy, 22lb loss in total.

Mini challenge: 4 weeks into mini challenge, 5lb loss, 8 weeks to go, 23lb to go. (This aim is just to keep myself in check, I will be perfectly happy if I manage to lose another 12lb)

I had a feeling i had lost, but was over the moon to see 3lb off.

So, bring on the next week!

25th Oct 2019 – a good food day, an exercise rest day.

Evening all. The weekend is here… YAY!!!

My back is very uncomfortable today, so I’ve decided to have a rest day.

Work has been continuous again. I much prefer that than quiet days, and we’ve had a lot of quiet days recently. So this week has been good, but I’m tired now.

So to business…

Food – 28g natural nuts, 160g fruit.

Went to lunch with mum and stayed strong, mostly, there was a sneaky roll and butter.

Dinner was Friday healthier fish and chips.

Amy also invited herself for dinner, celebrating being back in work, she had one of our weekend salads and hard boiled eggs.

Fluids – 200ml milk, .5l water, 3cups of tea. Pepsi max, A small, celebratory glass of choc Bailey’s.

Looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. I feel this week has been good, I’m hoping to lose 1.5lbish.

I have some loose plans for the weekend, 1 walk, at least 1 exercise programme, salad preparation, attempt cauliflower pizza base, visit friend, catch up with reading your wonderful posts, relax. Cry on Sunday night, thinking about work 🤣

24th Oct 2019 – a good food and exercise day.

Evening 😊

You know those days when your day has been a pleasantly productive day, the sort where you’re busy but not overly so, and your list has gone down nicely? Well that was my day. Work was enjoyable today.

I’ve had a good day for my personal health, just exercises to go and yoghurt to look forward to.

Out of interest I decided to work out the calories for my daily food, with 3 cups of tea my daily calories are just over 1100 calories, then there’s dinner, I’m not gonna work out the calories for every meal, but a guess at about 500 calories, and then Greek yoghurt about 200 calories.

So I’m looking at about 1800 calories per day. I had a knee jerk reaction – 1500 calories is the magic number. 1800 calories is too much!

I started wondering what to take out of my day? Or what I could tweak?

And then I stopped. I’m being an idiot. I exercise, calorie wise that’s about 200 cals, maybe.

But the fact is I’m happy with my regime, I’m satisfied with my progress so far and I’m soo pleased with my continuity!

I would love to see the number on the scales rapidly plummet, but my aim from the start was to follow NHS guidelines and advice. To learn how to maximise my food intake with healthy nutritional foods, and to give my body all the nutrients it needs, and not skip any food group.

My plan was also to get as much exercise as NHS advised, and I’m currently exceeding the lowest recommended amount of exercise. I’m hoping to make this a lifelong habit.

And besides, according to NHS, healthy weight loss is between 1 and 2lb a week. A range I am within.

So actually, I’m exactly where I want to be 😊

And lets face it, you guys know me, if I really wanted to lose more, I could always make sure I’m carrying all the spot on food and exercise throughout the weekends, rather than having slip ups 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

And on that note, here’s today’s report.

Food – 28g natural nuts, 160g fruit, salad, 1 banana. No hard boiled egg today.

Dinner – liver, this has become a true comfort food to me. I love this meal, and I love the way Paul cooks it.

Greek yoghurt with seeds and honey to be eaten after exercise.

Fluid – 200ml milk, 1l water, 3 teas. No fizzy 🤗

Exercise to be done – 7 min cardio and 15min strength routine. Paul will be joining me on the strength part.
