22nd July 2019 – SUCCESS!

Despite the thumping ovaries, sleepless night and tiredness I am delighted! Plodded onto the scales this morning….. 16 stone 7.0 lb!!!! A loss of 3.8 lb – WOOHOO!

And I was organised last night and got my salads and hard boiled eggs ready for the next few days!

Roll on this week!

21st July 2019 – what a lovely day.

Today has been a lovely day, an afternoon out courtesy of a family fun day put on by my partners boss.

The weather was lovely and warm, but overcast so no bright light to give me a headache.

However, with drink and food put on, I did need to seriously think about my choices. I limited myself to one full fat coke and then had diet coke, and as for food, a healthy untopped half jacket, rice and some meat. Pic below

So a wonderful day with good choices again, but I’m not going to get a chance for exercise tonight, there is snuggling on the sofa with my partner to do.

Also, my body’s about to go into menstrual meltdown, so I know the scales aren’t going to be kind to me tomorrow morning.

I was concerned with how I would cope, weekends are always a huge deal, it always seems so easy just to respond “yeah ok then” when my partner starts talking about take aways (he resists swapping to healthy eating 🤣), so I am overall pleased with myself.

Anyway signing out for now.

20th July 2019 – I fancy a burger!

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE

If you have discipline, drive and determination nothing is impossible. – Bonnie Pfiester

Ok, it’s Saturday and I really fancy weekend food, otherwise known as unhealthy takeaway! So, thought I’d make burgers.

Really easy to make, here’s all that’s needed for the burgers (notice the mince is 5% fat).

And here’s what’s needed for wedges.

And for afters we had grapes and strawberries with 0% fat vanilla yeo valley yoghurt (no pic I’m afraid).

Great healthier choices for breakfast and dinner. Very pleased with today, it can be done!

I’ll add the recipes to my recipe pages later, hope they are useful 😊.

20th July 2019 – fry up

We love a fry up, and it’s not something I’m gonna give up! But, I have made healthier choices, so Sainsbury be good to yourself sausages and bacon, 1cal spray for cooking, scraping the full fat butter on bread rather than a thick layer.

Now, my apologies for doing a calorie count, mostly i am trying to stay away from that and eat healthily and sensibly instead, but this meal with processed meats was 610 calories, it’s scary to think what my usual fry up would have been!

The good thing I did was listen to my body, and when I felt I was getting full, I stopped eating, as you know this is really difficult for me, so I feel a small sense of victory 👏

20th July 2019 – After yesterday’s post

So, the girls went home about 9.30ish last night, and I would like to tell you I got straight on with exercises and drank plenty more water. That’s what I would like to tell you.

Instead, we sat down, stuck the telly on and watched live at the Apollo, then before a film, my other half, who between me and you, I believe is a bit of a feeder, grabbed a pack of cheesy bites for us to share!

I wasn’t too bad, I made sure I didn’t eat the lions share, which I normally do. Even though my love kept pushing the bowl towards me, I just kept pushing it back.

This morning, lying in bed, I could feel… Not sure how to say, not bad or disappointed, just, well… Meh! (As my daughter would say in her younger days)

And THIS is when I discovered the joy of blogs! As you know, I started this blog as a means to keep myself motivated and on track. I’m not media minded and am learning as I go with this blog. But I decided to actively look up other people’s stories. Oh my word!!!!

It’s fabulous! So many people, so many journeys, So much inspiration! I even managed to follow another blogger without my daughter’s help!

It’s like having a huge support network! Thank you, you wonderful people 😊

AND I got up, and have just finished the exercises I should have done last night. WOOHOO welcome back motivation!

Catch ya later.

19th July 2019 – Dinner is served

Wild family that we are, all with a cuppa!

Anyway, this is our family dinner tonight, thoroughly enjoyed, and loads of veggies, and we’re stuffed! Perfect 😋

Goodnight

19th July 2019 (So far)

Feeling strangely non-achy today, I say strangely because I did the step exercises, twice, again last night, and still no aches. Not that I’m complaining!

I went out to lunch with mum today, so I only had a banana during the morning. Very pleased with my lunch choice though, and very different to mum’s 🤣

Had a water with my jacket spud too! I even asked them to not stick dressing on the salad or provide any butter… So yeah, very pleased.

I’ve been preparing dinner for my family, thank goodness for my onion glasses!

And here’s dinner prepped and ready to go, chicken stir fry – drooling already!

I’ll pop the ingredients and recipe in my “recipe” page in a bit

18th July 2019 – an excellent day, and it’s not over yet!

I realised today I just wasn’t hungry and had my lunch late, my morning food as usual was 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 banana and 25g nuts, which was weighed as I was worried my guestimates was a bit piggish, turns out I was guessing less than 25g… happy days! I didn’t even want my grapes today.

For lunch I had the remains of last night’s spag bol.

For dinner I had shop bought fish and chips, so not healthy, but a healthier option than the chippy, and very much unlike me, I ate slowly (I tend to scoff a bit), and stopped eating when I felt I had had enough. I don’t like wasting food, so I did find it annoying that some food was thrown away, but I realise that is better than eating till I’m stuffed.

AND…. I’ve had FOUR yes FOUR glasses of water. I’ve been reading on another blog (Thank you Agnies) about the benefits of adding lemon juice to water, I think I might give that a go, so if I can learn to love the stuff!

I’m a little disappointed I’m not getting my five fruit and veg today, but tomorrow, with stir fry for dinner, veggies will be jam packed!

I’ll be doing my step exercises in a while and I am actually looking forward to it.

So, signing out for tonight… goodnight fair folk!

17th July 2019

I’m feeling really pleased with myself today, my food mirrors almost exactly that of yesterday.

I had one glass of water during the day, not enough I know, but I did remember my half spoon sugar so didn’t feel too guilty about teas.

But here’s the exciting thing for me, we did a ten minute step work out thus evening… TWICE!

If you fancy checking it out, click the link below.

We found it on youtube and smart phoned it to the tv, it’s low impact, so no jumping, and easy steps. I can’t keep up with the instructor (yet), so just concentrate on getting the steps right and doing as energetically as I can, and I feel well and truly exercised! Will definitely need a shower tonight!

Happily, when I stumbled into the back garden afterwards, nice big rain drops cooled me down 😊

I had no trouble downing another glass of water.

So, that’s my day today.

Teddy bye

16th July 2019 – part 2

Just had to share!!!!

Walked to and from mum’s this evening and walked 4911 steps just in that walk. That’s about 4000 more than usual, though don’t think to badly of me, my step counters on my phone which doesn’t go everywhere with me 😊

BTW – mum made spag bol with 5% fat mince, so not too shabby a day!

Bye for now
