10th March – WOOHOO! another great day!

Hiya people, hope you are well 😊

Tuesday done, Friday booked as leave, so that’s half my week done!

My urine test came back ‘borderline’ whatever the hell that means! Gonna do yet another sample on Friday morning. I’m hoping that as I finished my antibiotics today, this test will come back all clear… 3rd time lucky!

I decided to do the hill today people, and this is the reason for me feeling today has been so fantastic… we went up it four, yes four times!

No other news, so here’s the daily report…

Sleep was crappy again, but I’m hoping to catch up at the weekend.

Fluid – 200ml of milk, 1 glass of water, 5 cups of tea.

Food – 40g natural nuts, 60g dried fruit, 1 cheese portion, prawn salad.

Sockeye salmon with rice, peas and sweetcorn for dinner.

And Paul has just brought in the rest of Lilly’s grapes!

Exercise – nearly an hour of walking, including going up hill 4 times. Bringing my tally to 78 minutes of moderate activity and 71 minutes of vigorous activity, 4 of those minutes at maximum.

Plan for tomorrow… working from home, so no need to get up early, I’ll do strength programme in the morning, walk to and from doc’s during lunch, walk to and from mum’s in evening.

Thursday we’ll be going round to our niece for dinner, so I hope to do a cardio programme in the morning.

Friday, providing Paul can get the day off, we’re hoping to do a big walk in the afternoon.

And on that note, I’ll wish you a good night 🤗

9th March – a great day!

Hey all, Monday is done!

Today has been a good day with regards to my health.

I won the usual morning argument this morning, I got up and exercised!

Not only did I exercise, I did programmes!  1 strength and 1 cardio.  I did however, over do it!  Across my shoulders and my lower back have been aching…  a lot!  This i think is because on the cardio last week i used the small weights at the same time, following one of the other people. This is fine, however not good straight after a strength programme! Lesson learned. Walking only tomorrow i think.

Spent a nice hour or so round my mum’s, my sister couldn’t join us because she’s ill, I’ll check in with her tomorrow.

Ok, nothing else to chat about, so onto the daily info.

Sleep wasn’t great, but hey, Sunday night… never good!

Fluid – 200ml of milk, 2 glasses of milk, 4 cups of tea, half a can of Pepsi max.

Food – 40g natural nuts, 60g dried fruit, 1 cheese portion, prawn salad. 2 chocs… I know! Not great!

Dinner was round at mum’s, and although not perfect, was very enjoyable! I ate the veggies first, and then tucked into the bangers and mash! I left one of the three sausages and about a quarter of the mash.

Exercise – 34 minutes of vigorous exercise and 64 minutes of moderate exercise! Cardio and strength this morning, one decent walk to mum’s and a quicker walk home! Again… forget that car!

I also had a square of chocolate when I got home, as I need a something to eat with the antibiotics.

Now Paul’s brought in strawberries and fat free Greek yogurt! Let’s feed those healthy gut bacteria!

Anyway!!!! Watching Miriam on tv exploring fatness! It’s fascinating! The series is called Miriam’s Big Fat Adventure and it’s on bbc2. Love Miriam!

Bye for now 😊

w/c 02.03 – Exercise Progression Update

Hiya all!

I am pleased to report this week has been another successful exercise week!

Even this evening, when I really just wanted to chill, Paul and I did the walk with the nasty hill, and even better than that… I did the hill THREE times! I did it slower than I’ve been trying to do, but I did it! No going back now, three times for the next couple of weeks!

AND… 3 lots of strength sessions! No going back on that either now!

Roll on next week! Gonna smash it!

Wishing you loads of motivation or determination in your own goals!

Bye 🤗

The weekend catch up – And what a cracking one it’s been!

Hiya all, hope you are well and have had a fab weekend!

What a great weekend! As ever, when we’re in aunty and uncle mode, things are never perfect with regards to the healthy lifestyle change, and this weekend has been no exception. However… it hasn’t been chocka block full of bad choices, there have been some very good choices!

So Saturday started well, I got up and got straight on with the strength training.

Then made breakfast… venison (a healthier, leaner meat than pork) sausage sarnie, bbq sauce and real butter.

Then I walked to and from the shop, no car for me.

Then Paul and I popped to Boots so we could weigh… 1lb of, just in case you missed my previous post 😉

Went and had a cuppa with my friend while Paul went to pick nieces up.

The girls decided they wanted to make cupcakes, and we wanted to do some arty stuff with them, they also didn’t have lunch before coming to ours, and we needed a dinner idea, so a trip to the shops was necessary.

All nieces and nephew on both sides of the family are very fussy, so food is difficult!

One had a ham sarnie, the other had a load of grapes and a banana. Me and Paul had some dried fruits and nuts.

The day was peppered with lots of stuff, Sofia starting to learn to play chess, Lilly making and remaking her new jigsaw puzzle lots of times, very very pleased with herself! Oh, and balloon catchy uppy on lava floor and deciding to try using my dumbbells 🤣

The kids made their cupcakes, mostly the eldest one 😆

Then Paul took Sofia (eldest) out to play… they managed a rally of 10 ball hits 😊

Lilly (younges) watched some weird kids stuff… bing I think!

This gave me time to get dinner going before the kids knew veggies were involved!

We had healthy spaghetti bolognese, mushrooms and onions included, which the kids don’t like. It’s always a struggle to get the kids to eat, and with this dish I call the spaghetti wigglies, the kids love it! They ate almost all their dinner, and said it was really nice 😆

In an effort to increase they’re food tastes, I also made some cheese garlic toast, they were not persuaded! Paul and I had to eat it all.

We had ice cream for afters.

Then the kids discovered the joy of marbling oils! As expected they loved the pretty swirly patterns!

And after doing the same with our other young nieces a few weeks ago, this time I made the kids wear latex gloves and Paul’s tee shirts!

Then it was time for story time for Lilly and bed, and games with ‘Fia.

Paul and I shared a bag of healthier crisps and I had water to drink.

By the time Sofia was ready for bed, we were already yawning badly! So I was pleased to collapse into bed at 11.30!

After the kids had eaten, Paul and I had beans on toast for breakfast.

Then Paul went out to buy our salads and the girls painted their flower pots (bought by the older sister Carly) for mother’s day. I used this time to prepare our nuts and fruits for the week.

Then the kids cut l shapes out of their pictures which were now dry from the night before.

Then there was lots of sticking ready for framing! The girls share a bedroom, so they did a collage for themselves, then another one for their mum.

We took the girls back home and were invited out to dinner by Paul’s mum and dad, who are looking after the kids over night.

And we accepted!

Oh… all the lovely food on the menu!!!!

I was surrounded by pie and chips, macaroni cheese, hunters chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken nuggets, onion rings, garlic bread, onion barjis, chips.

Temptation!!!!

So I had…

Pasta with rocket and chicken! It was creamier than I expected, so not as healthy, but definitely a lot more healthy than everything else.

Because it was creamy, and a bit cajunny and peppery, my stomach grumbled quite a bit!

This meant mine and Paul’s planned walk didn’t happen after our aunty/uncle time was over. Instead we came home and gloried in silence for a while.

Then we went out, despite just feeling like chilling! We had a great walk! No wind so we weren’t cold.

When we came home we finished Fia’s crisps. Not good, but as you’ll know, me chucking food away is a hard lesson I’m still trying to master!

So all in all a successful weekend and a great weekend!

Am I ready for the week? No! I need a rest 🤣😂🤣😂

Hope you are all rested and ready for the coming week 🙂

Good luck in all your endeavors this week.

Bye for now.

Weight Loss…. SUCCESS!!! 1lb off! 2 stone in total!

WOOHOO… I DID IT!

I can not tell you how pleased I am!

I am finally in the 14 stone bracket, I can finally say I’ve lost two stone (28lb)!

This is where I wanted to be on 16th ish of December last year! Talk about an eternity!

Didn’t think I would lose any this week, my ring is fitting very snugly on my finger, whereas it was starting to get lose… antibiotics!

So, upshot from this is… Please, please, please don’t give up! You can do it, as I am!

Bye for now!

6th March – exercise done!

Hiya, just a quickie…

Walk completed, needed to come home half way through as I needed the loo, but then straight back out!

Weekly total so far: 82 minutes of vigorous activity and 116 minutes of moderate activity.

And for supper…

Natural Greek yogurt with seeds and honey!

Byeee

6th March – not too shoddy so far

Hello!

It’s Friday… WOOHOO!

We’ll have either 2 or 3 kids over the weekend, I’m looking forward to it 😊

I should have gotten up early to do some exercising this morning, but folks, I have to tell you, I did not, and I feel not one jot of guilt over it! No, instead I’m delighted with the amount of sleep I had… nearly 8.5 hours!

I have felt so unknackered today, it’s great!

Other good news, my boss collared the boss above us who forgets we exist… I’m glad to report our jobs are safe! My heart goes out to those who are having to go through this. Liz and I were saying how guilty we feel being thankful when others have they lives crashing around them.

Went to lunch with mum and sister, always lovely catching up.

And I finally got a chance to read some your posts! Not on the work network or laptop, which is much easier. I might ask for a tablet for birthday and xmas 😊

Paul’s currently supping a beer, I’m sipping a water… now I can’t feel to smug, this is my first water of the day, but I’ll have at least another glass before bed.

So, here’s my day…

Sleep – courtesy of Paul falling asleep on the sofa, after I wrote my post last night, I suggested we went to bed. So I was in bed by 9.15pm! I had no trouble dropping, shockingly, and felt great when I got up this morning!

Fluid – 200ml of milk, 3 cups of tea, 1 glass of diet coke, 1 glass of water… so far.

Food – 40g natural nuts, 60g dried fruit, 2 cheese portions… don’t ask!

Lunch – so this is what my mum and sister had…

I nicked a chip of mum’s plate, and boy did I have a hankering for battered cod and chips!

However, I had a small salad bowl, I did have one of the little rolls as well, but it was brown. And instead of butter I had a sunflower spread portion. I forgot the pic.

Then my usual chicken salad.

Tonight we had lightly dusted lemon sole and oven cooked chips, didn’t quite hit the spot, but was tasty. Especially with a dollop of salad cream!

I’m going to give up on salad cream though, I looked at the calories and was shocked!

Exercise – none yet, but Paul and I will be going out for a walk very soon! I’ll pop a quickie on when done!

So weigh in is tomorrow, I’ll be honest, I feel bloated again, suspect the antibiotics, I’m not confident I’ll finally get passed this barrier, in fact I’m just hoping I don’t put weight on.

And I need to prepare myself, I don’t want to feel as crappy about it as I did last weekend, I know if I’m not careful I’ll think “what’s the point of all this diet and exercise…” blah blah blah. I just need to remember, healthy food + activity = healthier insides and minimising health problems in later life.

So, until my quickie… tada!

5th March – well… there was a tiny lapse!

Evening!

After writing up my post last night our daughter came in. It was nice spending a bit of time with her, but it did mean later than I wanted to bed.

I did not sleep well, and I’ve felt it all day.

On top of that, some shitty news at work!

There was a bit of a stampede past our little office.

We do have a manager, but this manager as with previous managers doesn’t really know what our work involves, there is no escalation point above us, everything is dealt with. As such we are left to ourselves. What this also means is that the manager forgets we exist, poor show!

Now about lunch time loads of people we’re marching passed our little office, we assumed there must be a company meeting to discuss a new system.

We were wrong, they were being told about an email about to be sent company wide.

So, without warning, our tiny team received and read an email stating a decision to drop several hundred jobs!

And our manager? Still didn’t come in to see us, and was infact unavailable all afternoon!

So I write this post tonight not knowing if I’ll have a job soon!

I instinctively feel we’ll be ok. Our contract shouldnt be moved off shore, which is what will happen to call centre jobs, and the pre work needed before anyone can work on the contract is extreme, a four month process. Give it another year and a bit, and if we still work here, then I’ll look for another job, that’s when our contract finishes.

So although I don’t feel we have anything to worry about, until I know for certain, I find I’m worrying anyway.

This resulted in a F**K it moment in the office, and both Liz and I had two chocs each out of Peter’s celebration pack!

And on other news… my contraceptive last week should have been free, so my new prescription to replace my lost antibiotics today was in effect free… YAY 😄

So, on to my daily info.

Sleep – oh lord! Crap!

Fluid – 200ml of milk, 2 cans of Pepsi max, 3 glasses of water! Only 2 cups of tea.

Food – 40g natural nuts, 60g dried fruit, 1 cheese portion, prawn salad, 2 chocolates.

For dinner Paul cooked up liver.

A bit of a messy pic!

And supper was Greek yoghurt with seeds and honey.

Exercise – oh my word! My arms and thighs have been aching today, and it felt good, because that means yesterday’s exercises were good!

So today was an intentional easier day. I purposely didn’t pick up my prescription yesterday, just in case I needed a reason to get off my backside tonight.

So did a decent walk with a stop off at the pharmacy.

This brings my weekly total to 63 minutes of vigorous activity and 80 minutes of moderate activity. But, despite the walking only one 45 minute walk so far.

So this is me, I’m going to settle in with Alice Roberts talking about the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs!

4th March – a GREAT day!  A day to be pleased with!

The day started well and continued wonderfully!

Paul’s alarm went off, I thought about staying in bed, I argued with myself for about five minutes, went to the loo, snuggled back down, then got up!

And that gave me my first bit of exercise!  A bit of cardio.

I then walked to and from my nurse appointment. Got a new prescription for the lost antibiotics. Then walked back home and started my work day. Thankfully I was working just 5 minutes late thanks to an early appointment.

During my lunchtime I did more exercise, this time strength training.

Then after work I walked to and from mum’s.

Came home to a lovely dinner!

So the daily stuff…

Sleep – mmm, not great but not too bad.

Fluid – 200ml of milk, 4... yes four glasses of water, 3 cups of tea and one chai latte.

Food – 40g natural nuts, 60g dried fruit, 1 cheese portion.

Prawn salad.

Serious food craving about 3.30ish, so a small handful of nuts, about 20g. No bread and butter for me… oh no!

Falafel, salad, wholewheat flatbread, cheese and mari rose.

Exercise – in total 61 minutes of moderate activity, 32 minutes of vigorous activity. Walking, cardio and strength!

So, there we are, not a bad day at all! And half the week gone!

Teddy bye for now!
